Welcome to SnapGym. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience on our social fitness platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SnapGym mobile application. By using SnapGym, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a highly interactive social fitness experience, we collect the following types of data:

Personal Information: When you register an account, we collect your email address, full name, username, and profile picture.
Social Connections: We track and store data regarding the users you follow and your followers to curate a personalized priority community feed.
User-Generated Content: We collect the text posts, workout photos, comments, and likes you choose to share publicly on the app's feed.
Device Permissions (Camera & Photo Library): We request access to your device's camera and photo library strictly to allow you to upload profile pictures and share workout photos. We only access the specific images you select for upload.
Usage Data: We automatically collect standard diagnostic data, including app crash reports, to improve app stability and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:

To create, authenticate, and manage your SnapGym user account.
To display your public profile, fitness posts, and interactions to other SnapGym users.
To manage your social network, including processing follower and following requests.
To send real-time push notifications for social interactions (e.g., likes, comments, and new followers).
To maintain app security and prevent fraudulent activity.

3. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. However, we utilize trusted service providers to facilitate core app functionalities. These providers adhere to strict data security standards:

Firebase Authentication & Google Sign-In: Used to securely manage your login credentials and identity.
Google Cloud Firestore: Used as our primary database to securely store your textual data, including profile details, comments, follower lists, and posts.
Cloudinary: Used as our dedicated image hosting service to securely store, optimize, and deliver your uploaded profile pictures and workout photos.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to deliver necessary push notifications to your device.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion

You have full ownership and control over your data. We retain your personal information only for as long as your account is active.

How to Delete Your Data: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the SnapGym app. To do so, navigate to your Edit Profile Settings > Delete Account. Upon confirming deletion, all your personal information, posts, connections, images hosted on Cloudinary, and database records on Firestore will be permanently erased from our active servers.

5. Age Restriction & Children's Privacy

SnapGym is strictly intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that an individual under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take immediate steps to delete their account and all associated information.

6. Security of Your Information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access or alteration. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document and, where appropriate, sending a notification within the app.
